Simone McAlonen is an award-winning actor, writer and comedian once described in The LA Times as “a fearless asset.”
She has appeared on film, TV, national commercials, comedy festivals and regional theatre around the country, and is a company member at Ensemble Studio Theatre in Los Angeles.
Additionally, Simone is also an experienced comedy writer. Her original comedy pilot, "My Parents Are On Tinder" won Best Comedy Video in Portland and several awards at Portland Comedy Film Festival. Her sketches have been featured on Whohaha and Funny or Die. As a stand up comedian and sketch performer she has performed all over LA including on The Groundlings Mainstage, UCB, The Laugh Factory and various comedy festivals.
She writes and performs at Storytelling events regularly in Los Angeles including EST’s True Story and as part of the “Tales from Herstory” series at The Skirball Cultural Center.
McAlonen is originally from Oregon, where she was partially raised on a Christian Summer Camp that used to be home to the infamous Rajneesh cult. She has written a one-person comedy show based on her childhood diaries living on the camp called, “Wild Wild Christian” which has performed all over LA including twice at Dynasty Typewriter. Her show has been featured on LA Weekly, The LA Times, DoLA, Voyage LA, and several other LA based publications and podcasts.
She currently splits her time between Portland, OR and Los Angeles with her cat, Buddha.
